Patricia van der Vliet Shoots Straight in 'Army of Me' by Aitken Jolly for Exit Winter 2012/2013

There’s no doubt that we read the tea leaves with our own prejudices at AOC. And Exit Magazine is a British publication — but one waving the American flag in ‘Army Of Me’.

American women are under assault in America while the NRA screaming that the federal government wants to take away their guns. One could easily interpret Patricia van der Vliet’s fashion positioning as one declaring her independence from Obama & Company in Exit’s winter issue.

In reality, I doubt that Patricia is joining one of America’s anti-federal government militias any time soon. My take is that Aitken Jolly has captured the model in a sensual declaration of independence from the Republican War on Women, with Patricia styled by Sam Ranger.

To all the men including Catholic bishops and southern Baptist preachers like Mike Huckabee — and a few Republican women — who are jamming vaginal probes, miscarriage as a felony and personhood for embryos down the throats of American women, we say: “stand back”.

We ladies can shoot straighter than you think, even though most of us loathe guns and what they have done to human civilization. This is the second directly confrontational editorial I’ve seen this week. W Magazine’s ‘Heavenly Creature’ editorial goes straight to the heart of the Vatican.

Consider yourself warned, gentlemen. ~ Anne
