Fashionistas shivered in New York Sunday, arriving in a makeshift event space at Pier 57 along the Hudson River to view Edun’s Fall 2012 collection. Founded by US’2 Bono and wife Ali Hewson, it seems that Edun is getting its act together. After a strong spring collection, the fall images are looking even better.

We’ve followed the Edun brand for years, though some pretty tough times, as Ali Hewson has learned the challenges of manufacturing in and out of Africa. To their credit, the Edun team has hung in there for the long haul, helped by LVMH’s major 49% financial stake in the company and lots of professional expertise. After a substantial drop in manufacturing in Africa, the company reports that roughly 30 percent of it clothes are mmanufactured in Africa.
