Elephants are Anne favorite animals — besides dolphins, of course — and she has ridden elephants in Thailand. The elephant camp in Mae Hong Son is a perfect place to celebrate National Thai Elephant Day, which honors the primary importance of elephants in Thailand.
The country is home to the world’s only elephant hospital and 3,000-4,000 elephants of which half are domesticated.
In the US the Denver Zoo has decided to celebrate National Elephant Day on March 13.
