October saw the launch of a glossy Dutch lifestyle magazine called VEGA, described as an ode to Dutch vegetarians and flexitarians, dutchies who seek to integrate veggie principles into their total lifestyle.
Committed to showing stylish, sexy, insprint, hot & happening lifestyle choices in clothes, cosmetics and other consumption choices, VEGA is published by Sanoma, who has targeted the 750,000 vegetarians and 5 million flexitarians in the Netherlands, writes Kyra de Vreeze.
Typically a flexitarian eats a primarily vegetarian diet, with supplemented organic and free-range animal products. Most flexitarians don’t eat red meat for health and sustainability reasons. With a total population of about 16.9 million, those statistics are impressive.
