Natasha Poly | Terry Richardson | Vogue Paris November 2011
/
In a story that leaves us very lukewarm, Natasha Poly wears white only in Harlem, lensed by Terry Richardson and styled by Marie Chaix for the November 2011 issue of Vogue Paris.
We have no issue with an image or two from 125th Street, but they capture none of the vibrancy that Harlem has experienced in the last decade.
If I was running the shoot, we would have been on the street, no problem; at former president Bill Clinton’s official office in Harlem — maybe Natasha could be sitting sexy on Bill’s desk reading reports from the very successful Clinton Global Initiative; having the beauty address a class at Harlem Children’s Zone — one of the foremost success stories for educating children of poverty in the nation; and then Natasha could be sipping cocktails in her white sheath at Red Rooster Harlem, one of the hottest restaurants in the city. It’s also very easy to call up a penthouse with spectacular views not far from 125th street — just to give the world a more well-rounded view of today’s Harlem USA.
This editorial has as much imagination and purpose as — well I won’t say. Anne
