Feds Reject Indiana Abortion Bill
A federal hearing officer has ruled that Indiana’s controversial abortion law that makes Planned Parenthood the least desirable health care provider for women has been ruled unacceptable “because it denies women the freedom to choose their health care providers”.
Ironically, the argument that Obamacare takes away that same right, is front and center for Republicans opposed to the Affordable Care Act. Working closely with the right-to-life movement, Republicans in many state legislatures including Texas have sought to eliminate abortions at Planned Parenthood centers by cutting off their total flow of Medicaid money.
Overseeing the appeal hearing on a similar decision by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in June 2011, Hearing Officer Benjamin Cohen said “that the law violated a federal requirement that individuals must have the liberty to obtain care from any qualified provider” reports CNN.
Wading Into the Water
The August issue of Vanity Fair magazine delves into the offshore finances of Mitt Romney, for an in-depth look at the many loopholes in America’s tax code that help America’s wealthiest reduce their US taxes.
From the first paragraph in which a former Bain employee reflects on Romney’s style of getting competitive information by “pretending”, the inference is that as a smart guy, Mitt is presented as a hear no evil, see no evil kind of guy.

L Wren Scott & Mick Jagger
For the last 10 years, Mick Jagger has lived with designer L Wren Scott, jetting between England, the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan and the Left Bank of Paris. For all his glittering on and off stage antics, Mick Jagger appreciates tall, chic women. Granted, some women are more chic than others, and we’re sure the French would agree.
Scott the designer shares images of her Left Bank apartment in two Vogue articles about her life and career. Read on L Wren Scott & MIck Jagger Cosy Up in Left Bank Parisian Apartment.
