I could identify with the subtlety of flavor, the importance of texture, the rules of the cooking techniques and presentation,” explains Becker. Stylishly decorated with marble pillars, unyielding wooden surfaces and natural stonework by leading Japanese interior designer Nori Muramatsu, and based around an open floor plan and exposed kitchen to evoke an “authentic” Japanese restaurant, Zuma offers 40 different varieties of sake, including Biwa No Choju––exclusively brewed from the waters of Lake Biwa in Japan’s Shiga prefecture. Frequented by numerous celebrities and high-profile guests including Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, the culinary destination has expanded over the past decade into Hong Kong, Istanbul, Dubai, Miami and Bangkok.

PA’s Corbett’s Approval Sinks with Women

Is Pennsyvania governor Tom Corbett in trouble with women voters?” We sure hope so!

Corbett joins the list of Republican governors trying to eliminate Planned Parenthood and usher in a host of new rules governoring women’s health care in the state. Corbett famously told PA women to close their eyes, as the state mandated exactly how their head was to be positioned when viewing their unneeded untrasound before having an abortion.

Corbett’s disapproval polling numbers, as reported by Quinnipiac University, have increased from 12 percent in January 2011 to 51 percent in June 2012.

“I think Corbett’s priorities have been a step back for the state, for women, our priorities and our families. That deeply affects women as it does men,” U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, who represents parts of Philadelphia and Montgomery counties told thePhiladelphia Daily News.

“I would say he doesn’t have empathy or any understanding of what average women are going through,” said Julia Ramsey, president of the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Organization for Women, and a friend of Anne’s. “Either he will change his tune in another two years or we need a new governor.”

Huma Abedin, singled out by MIchele Bachmann as a front for the Muslim Brotherhood

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defended her personal top State Department aide Huma Abedin at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace today. Politico reports:

In answering the question, Clinton tied the Abedin controversy into the struggle of developing nations to respect minority religions.

“Leadership is incredibly important.  Leaders have to be active in stepping in and sending messages about protecting the diversity within their countries.  And frankly, I don’t see enough of that, and I want to see more of it.  I want to see more of it, and we did see some of that in our own country.  We saw Republicans stepping up and standing up against the kind of assaults that really have no place in our politics,” Clinton said.

Clinton was referring to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who condemned Bachmann’s letter on the Senate floor.

“These attacks on Huma have no logic, no basis and no merit. And they need to stop now,” McCain said.
