Christian Louboutin Does 'Lilith' By Peter Lippmann For Fall 2013
/Christian Loubotin goes biblical in his Fall 2013 lookbook, lensed by Peter Lippmann. These baroque, Rubens-inspired scenes are strictly Old Testament. Fiesty creatures like Lilith, Adam’s first wife, were completely written out of the New Testament as just one more example of women’s demise. I think it’s fair to say that Lilith definitely would have worn Christian Loubotin as she stormed out of the Garden of Eden, after refusing to submit to Adam. Or so the Old Testament story goes.
Christian Louboutin and Peter Lippman deliver a fashion cornucopia and two new models of shoes: Artifice Strass and Grusanda and clutches covered with spines. This looks like some serious fashion amo for American women to wear in the trenches, as we fight for our rights and against the lights of our own progress being snuffed out in the Republican War on Women.
It’s the research from Baylor University that lies at the heart of the very important book America’s Four Gods. While I lament the findings in the research, I highly recommend reading this book.
About 25% of all Americans who believe in the concept of God, reject the notion that we humans can even understand intellectually the concept of God as taughts across America. What’s disturbing about the research is the reality that only 2% of American women but 50% of American men believe that God has no gender. Specifically God is not male.
Until substantial numbers of American women agree with about half of American men and yours truly (part of the pathetic 2% of American women) that God is not male but genderless, we ladies are easily manipulated by the Good Book.
The conclusions in ‘America’s Four Gods’ come from in-person meetings with about 5,000 Americans surveyed. But it’s backed up by digital examinations of the views of about 250,000 survey-takers online. Several of my Facebook friends and I took the test. ~ Anne
