Michelle Obama ‘Becoming’

Michelle Obama’s memoir “Becoming” was the bestselling book of 2018, selling nearly 3.5 million copies. It will be so good to have the former First Lady’s voice in our lives again. Our ravaged by Trump souls are in desperate need of unadulterated goodness and high ideals.

Watching the Netflix documentary ‘Becoming’, a 90-minute film released in May, was a behind the scenes look at the 34-city book tour launched in Michelle’s beloved Chicago with Oprah Winfrey. Viewers learned more about the First Lady’s upbringing, her family and yes — her eight years in the White House.

Mrs. Obama is unflinching in talking about painful moments of prejudice and scrutiny on the presidential campaign trail. And she speaks lovingly of the early days of her relationship with the future president.

Michelle admits that she was intrigued by “that Barack Obama voice’ that answered her initial phone call as his mentor at their law firm. “I really was like, ‘Whoa! The heat was coming out of the phone from that voice.”

Our favorite First Lady has been candid about the serious reservations she had about dating her future husband. saying the pairing would be "so tacky. The two black people from Harvard. I was like, 'That's just what they're waiting for.” If you need a memory refresh, Michelole Obama graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1985 and earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law in 1988.
