The original construction of Crossbasket Castle began in the 19th century, with the physically large, expensive to mainstain property sending more than owner — speaking metaphorically — ‘to debtors’ prison’. In America, we might say — also metaphorically — ‘to the poor house’.
In 2011, the current owners, Steve and Alison Reid-Timoney, purchased the property and invested in a comprehensive restoration, transforming it into a luxury hotel and event venue.
