Hedi Slimane’s Celine [IG] Summer 2024 collection embedded the designer’s favorite sexy and cool, androgynous signatures.

First expressed in a film presentation shot by Slimane inside Paris’s Bibliothèque Nationale Richelieu, Hedi’s ‘Tomboy’ models took us into their daily lifestyles, striding around Paris.

Slimane dropped the film in late October after the end of Paris fashion week.

All fashion critics were quick to note that there was nothing bookish about Celine’s new collection, even if the ornate BNF library is located across the street from Celine’s headquarters.

One of the oldest cultural institutions in France, the BNF has housed the French Royal Collection of texts since the Middle Ages.

Celine luxury is also a French institution — in the library and also pounding the world’s streets in curated fashion looks that combine hard/soft luxury and exist to fill our every fashion need.

Photographer Hedi Slimane has now dropped the ad campaign behind Celine’s ‘Tomboy’ summer collection.

Superb ‘Tomboy’ model, Edie Campbell takes the spotlight, styled and photographed in Rome in September 2023. Hedi Slimane runs his own show and for all we know, he styled Edie before photographing her.

Unfortuately, Hedi forgot to give Edie rare ocean jasper to keep her grounded, when she returned to Britain. Had AOC had a premonition of what was coming, we would have sent Edie ocean jasper palm stones via DHL.

Only found in Madagascar and now fully extracted from the earthstones — translated ‘gone forever’ — perhaps Edie would have ducked.

And she wouldn’t have huge blood stains on her clothes. Imagine a horse’s hoof slamming into one’s face, and no bones were broken.

Indeed AOC friends, our beloved Ms. Eddie Campbell was kicked in the face and shoulder at the end of November 2023 and had emergency plastic surgery. We didn’t know.

In September 2019, Edie Campbell returned to the catwalk, five months after the expert equestrian experienced an accident and concussion so severe, Edie considered that she might never work again as a model.

She was smashed up so badly that Campbell was unable to put on socks or remember what had happened just 15 minutes earlier. Edie went through serious rehabilitation in a major scare for all who adore her.

Goddess knows what went through Edie’s brain when her physical and emotional self was battered yet again by the horses she loves. And her face, no less.

Thanks to her very capable surgeon and giving up smoking to aid the healing process and speed up her blood circulation, the top model says she will only be left with a small scar.

Edie’s attitude is exactly that of a Celine ‘Tomboy’ fearless woman, dealing with a clutch situation that might send some humans into a total tizzy.

When Anne speaks of true grit women with backbone, put Edie Campbell on that list.

Give her a new Celine Victoire bag, which is selling very well. And maybe a pair of Celine ranger derby shoes like the ones A$AP Rocky wore to dinner with Rihanna at Giorgio Baldi in LA last summer.

Edie’s got a bit of Rocky Balboa in her, considering her prestigious family heritage. You just can’t keep a good woman down.
