'Forget Me Not' by Marco Van Rijt for Vogue Scandinavia June 2022
/Sudanese-Australian model Ajak Deng is styled by Rikke Wackerhausen in ‘Forget Me Not’, a floral ode to fashion lensed by Marco van Rijt [IG] for Vogue Scandinavia June 2022. ‘Bleeding heart’ would be a better title, as the beautiful and talented Deng looks so very sad.
I did research one of the first prominent South Sudanese via Australia models to make sure she’s okay, but will not comment on my findings. Deng has a big sisterhood surrounding her now, and they will take care of her. Even her body language is ‘off’ in these images and her shoulders are sad, too.
The world is suffering so much now — and especially in Ukraine — people don’t have enough empathy to go around.
As Norway and Sweden try to join NATO, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan is demanding that so-called Kurdish terrorists be turned over to him or he will block Norway and Sweden joining NATO.
I wrote on the Wall Street Journal yesterday that of course Erdogan wants to get his hands on the Kurdish Women soldiers, wherever they are. No braver women are on our planet in these times than the Kurdish women fighters, and I will put myself at any personal risk in their defense — as I’ve done for them in the past and for Sudanese women as well.
American women are losing control over our bodies with abortion and birth control, as we speak. And American moms have no baby formula!!! Good goddess, it’s a cruel world out there.
On second thought, ‘Forget Me Not’ actually may be a perfect name for this lovely, joyless fashion story. ~ Anne/ Makeup by Trine Skjoth
