Cecilie Bahnsen Pre-Fall 2026 Nod to Sisterhood Lensed by Nadine Ijewere
/Founder Cecilie Bahnsen [IG] and CEO Mie Marie Ejdrup have a clear vision of where the designer’s eponymous brand is going.
When Vogue Business sat down with the duo in August 2025, the ambitious plan of increasing sales 300% by 2028 was agreed upon. The decision was based on a 33% year-on-year June revenue increase. The brand was negatively impacted by the Matches shutdown.
It appears that Cecilie Bahnsen is not negatively impacted by the Saks bankruptcy action, but they are on the creditors list for the SSENSE.
As of early 2026, SSENSE is restructuring under court protection [CCAA] after filing in September 2025 due to over $200 million in debt, driven by softening luxury demand and the impact of US tariffs. The Atallah family founders secured a deal to retain control, with the transaction expected to close around February 13, 2026.
It’s been a busy year for the brand with Cecile Bahnsen shows in Paris on a regular schedule and the development of a 10-years anniversary collection. A Cecilie Bahnsen boutique opened last August, located at Store Strandstræde 19 in Copenhagen.
For this Pre-Fall 2026 collection of romantic femininity, Cecilie Bahnsen collaborated with photographer Nadine Ijewere [IG], creating a visual narrative focused on a romantic sisterhood and love of dressing up. It was all about bows, a detail that became an obsession for Bahnsen as she honed her approach to the concept of everyday couture. This design mindset adds utilitarian pockets to sheer dresses.
The new designs follow a spring collection designed in tandem with The North Face’s technical gear, silk hoodies reimagined into trapeze silhouettes and sculptural anoraks traced with lace all carried her signature romanticism.
The designer is known for creating products that swell with lightness and float on the body with total ease. AOC notes that — unlike most of fashion world — she continues to create products in larger sizes and show them on the runway.
Cecilie Bahnsen will show her Fall 2026 Collection in Paris on Thursday, March 5th.
