The 18-piece Nike x Jacquemus Après Ski apparel collection is designed to offer “uncompromising winter sport performance and style, snowboarders and all athletes, who lean into the mountain lifestyle,” writes Nike.
Jacquemus always executes these wit-infused collaborations with serious design and product development. With this collection, GORE-TEX fabrics are center stage and triple-layered in some pieces to protect against wind and snowstorms.
When it comes to the marketing, cleverness consumes the video by Jason Filmore and Simon Davis [IG]. Anne watched it 5x, just for amusement.
Since 2023, Jacquemus has hosted a pop-up in the French ski resort of Courchevel, and the new drop is not the designer’s first collaboration with Nike. In 2022 the two brands created a collection inspired by vintage Nike ACG outdoor gear and 1990s Nike campaigns.
Jacquemus made a serious commitment to performance, working with French brand Lacroix to create a vintage-vibe pair of skis with muted orange and black stripes and a matching mask. At a price of $3,190, the skis are custom-matched to the buyer’s physical measurements.
“I have always been a fan of skiing: It’s my favorite sport and has been my favorite winter getaway since I was young,” says Simon Porte Jacquemus. “Ski attire has always fascinated me, and I’m a big collector of vintage ’80s ski pieces. This collection with Nike is an opportunity for me to bring a new fashion story into our collaboration and into the ski community, which is a first for me.”
