Rianne van Rompaey in 'Urban Renewal' by Jamie Hawkesworth for W Magazine Fall Fashion

Top model Rianne van Rompaey is styled by Grace Coddington in ‘Urban Renewal’, a fiery, ladylike fashion story shot in New York City for W Magazine’s [IG] Fall Fashion 2024 issue, Volume 4. The fashion story travels through Brooklyn neighborhoods including under the Brooklyn Bridge, with Hawkesworth and Rianne showcasing fall looks from Celine by Hedi Slimane, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Prada and more.

W Magazine doesn’t suggest that Grace Coddington is styling herself, and creative directors Levai and Tekenel are ambitious, young talent in their own right.

Still, that basket-of-riches red hair is difficult to ignore.

The New York Times touched base with Coddington, the longtime Vogue editor, stylist and artist in June 2024, as part of their The Unstoppables series.

The 83-year-old stylist shares details of new projects, and sums up her work life with this quote:

I’ve been told that I’m always reinventing myself. That was said of me even back in the ’60s, when I was a model. I had long hair, and I would chop it to nothing. Then I would grow it again and dye it blond.

I recently chopped it and find that I’m modeling again. That makes me smile, because I’m not a fresh young girl with high hopes. But I’ve still got it, I guess. Just send me the check.
