Louis Vuitton, the iconic French fashion house and the ‘L’ in LVMH shares in the honor of being the first European company to hit $500bn in Spring 2023.

LVMH shares have soared by 30% so far this year propelling it into the top 10 of the world’s most valuable listed companies.

Louis Vuitton is always a blend that leans forward between classics and fresh designs — with a lean forward on fresh. And yet there’s something quite classic about the new arrival of LV Shake shoe collection, showcasing a range of slingback pumps, platform sandals, and low-heeled sandals.

Inspired by the clasp of the iconic Twist bag, the LV Shake shoe exudes a timeless feminine allure with a modern foundation.

Leading the campaign for the Shake collection is the ‘The Blonde Salad’ blogger, businesswoman and influencer Chiara Ferragni, a well-known social media influencer, mother of two and style icon. Much of Ferragni’s current appeal is lodged in her modern mama persona.

Ferragni channels the spirit of the 60s, with its undeniable youthquake appeal and huge embrace of modernity. We see these images without a larger social context, however.

I don’t know what the dress code was at Louis Vuitton in the ‘60s and ‘70s — or even their Le Samaritaine store in Paris — but it was a very big step forward for female saleswomen at department stores like Saks and Bonwit Teller in New York when they could wear cream, pink and blue dresses to work— and not only black.
