Dior Magazine's 7 Spanish Creatives Visualizing Cruise 2022.23 Collection

Women’s Status in 2023

There is no stronger voice for women’s rights in fashion culture than Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Her leadership and creative vision increases in value at a time when women’s rights are under assault worldwide, including in America.

‘Woman’ Selected as Word of the Year by Dictionary.com

There’s a reason why the word ‘woman’ was the most-searched word on dictionary.com in 2022. Clearly, we don’t know who women are any more. Can you imagine a search for the word ‘men’?

After major study of what is going on, AOC came to understand that the squeeze wasn’t only from the right, but also the left. I’m well-versed on the reality that vagina is now a verboten word among the uber-progressives in the LGBTQIA+ community.

There’s irony in this lack of word harmony on the left, given the vagina’s identity as a natural birth canal and not only a sperm receptable or pleasure center. Personally, I think vaginas deserve some respect.

But ‘woman’ is now verboten, too? All we need is men? And if Mother Earth didn’t give a vagina to men — or biological women identifying as men — then banish the word? That’s quite authoritarian, if you consider the edict. Then again, vaginas have been bossed around for several thousand years.

Thankfully, one person who isn’t caught in this word-salad eggbeater is Dior’s Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

AOC raved and raved about the 2022.23 Cruise show, writing: Dior's Resort 2023 Cruise Show and Ad Campaign in Seville Makes Arnault a 21st Century Medici Name AOC Fashion

Carrying on with its 21st century Medici mission, after the Cruise 2022.23 show in Seville, Dior invited seven Spanish photographers to engage in dialogue with the brand with their photographic interpretations of the cruise collection that truly celebrated Andulasian culture.

Dior Magazine’s ‘Andulasian Grace’ features these talented photographers: Berta Vicente Salas; Andrea Torres Balaguer; Silvia Conde; Raquel Chicheri; Eva Diez; Irene Cruz; Alba Yruela.

POWERFUL TRIBUTES TO FEMININITY AND SISTERHOOD, SILVIA CONDE’S PHOTOGRAPHS, TAKEN IN THE HEART OF THE SALT MINES OF JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, COMBINE THE BEAUTY OF WOMEN WITH THAT OF NATURE, A HARMONY THAT SYMBOLIZES THE STRENGTH OF THE TIES THAT BIND TOGETHER THOSE WHO CREATE LIFE.

Silvia Conde is a photographer and art director currently based in Barcelona. She lived in Berlin for nine years, studying at the ‘Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie’ with an initial focus on Mother Earth.

Recently, Motherhood has become an object of study for Silvia Conde and she began An Ode to Mother, a platform focused on the experience of motherhood in an intimate circle of expanding connections for the photographer.
