Esteemed photographer Sølve Sundsbø [IG] has been a “master of digital art for nearly 20 years”, writes Vogue China in introducing the September 2022 issue ‘Fashion’s New World Fashion Future’. Long before the rise of Mark Zuckerberg and the emergence of "metaverse", avatars, VR games and now NFTs, a group of avant-garde artists were exploring the blurred boundaries between the real world and the virtual world.

Turning to Sølve Sundsbø to shoot the Vogue China September covers and main cover story was an obvious choice. “I’ve always been curious about how things would look in a medium that is completely different from photography,” says Sundsbø. “Traditionally, fashion has been about fashion writing, fashion illustration, fashion photography, and then fashion film. Now we We are in the era of game fashion and animation fashion...and we are still focusing on it."
