Lila Moss Covers British Vogue May 2021, Being a Little Wild for Steven Meisel

Perhaps Guido’s comments about the shoot give us the best insights into Lila Moss. “It’s about embracing her personality,” he explained to Vogue UK writer Tish Weinstock.
“There was no preconceived idea of how the hair should look, it was more instinctively responding to how she looked and acted in the clothes. We wanted to capture her quirky irreverence.” The result was a handful of different looks. In some images, Lila sports long wavy Pre-Raphaelite locks, which Guido created with added hair extensions. “It’s wild and it’s natural,” he muses.
Lila Moss’s main interview by Ellie Pithers has a strong family vibe to it. Lila has just moved in with her dad Jefferson Hack, co-founder of Dazed Media. Leaving her mum’s house — once the home of the Romantic poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge — was sad. Kate will be based in her Gloucestershire home for now. The entire family agrees this is a new phase.
We learn about Lila’s Type 1 diabetes, a condition that requires discrete, constant monitoring. Walking with her mother in September 2021 ‘Fendace’ event, Lila wore a Versace by Fendi baroque-printed swimsuit that revealed her Omnipod insulin pump.
Lila Moss runs on time or early, in contrast to her habitually behind schedule mother. But they both love watching ‘Law and Order’.
“She was very particular about her look,” says friend and artistic director of Fendi womenswear and couture Kim Jones, about the Fendace show. “She likes to dress up and knows what she likes to wear. But I love the way Lila is just Lila – she has a confidence about her.”
The interview reads like learning about Kaia Gerber’s book club. These young women are all so polite, grounded and civilized. Last fall the New York Times took up the topic of models book clubs.
