Milena Smit recently starred in Pedro Almodóvar’s critically-acclaimed ‘Parallel Mothers’, appearing with Penélope Cruz. A comparative newcomer to acting, Smit received a notice about her audition for a new film, without being told about the pedigrees of her fellow artists.

It was only in the last stage of the audition process, that Milena Smit learned the plot of the movie and that her final audition would be in front of Almodóvar and Cruz.

“And thank god the next audition was the final one with them, because if I had found out at the beginning what movie it was for, I don’t know if I would have done it so well,” Smit told writer Dawn Williams Boyd Basil Kincaid. [Yes!]

Milena Smit’s next film is ‘Tin Y Tina’, with a March, 2023 release. “It is about a couple,” describes Smit,“who want to adopt children, and they go to a religious orphanage to look for them. The movie has a lot of religious symbolism, but it is a horror film.”

Smit is an ambassador for both Saint Laurent and Cartier. On the topic of her fashion platform, the actor gives good and simple advice. “Life works in funny ways, you never know what the calm and storms may yield, so make sure you are paying attention...and reading your DMs.”
