Fendi Pops Into NYC Soho for 25th Anniversary Baguette Celebration
/Update August 14, 2026: AOC does not encourage requests for credit from the multiple people who make important fashion events happen. It’s just too much work for us. When we respond to a request for credit, we try to only promote the very best people, who are not beginners but may not be widely known. The top people with archives on AOC, do not need our help.
That AOC endorsement requires my small team [who everyone thinks is big] to review the request personally and in-depth. Today, AOC makes a rare exception for WONU in Brooklyn, who is the production partner that made this Fendi Baguette event happen. Read my further explanation end of post.
Fendi’s Soho Popup
Fendi [IG] has popped into New York City for a holiday celebration of the Winter Capsule 2022 - 25th Anniversary Baguette Collection. Located at 90 Prince Street in Soho, the shop will be open until December 23.
Created by Silvia Venturini Fendi in 1997, the baguette bag became a phenom attached to Sarah Jessica Parker and ‘Sex and the City’, who famously said “This is not a bag—it’s a Baguette.”
“The façade of the New York SoHo space embraces the palette of the Winter Capsule 2022 Collection, as a vibrant wasabi green stone exterior makes a bold statement, punctuated with suspended 3D Baguette bags in the windows. Upon entering, guests are greeted with floor-to-ceiling baby pink, glossy blue, and wasabi green interiors, where playful oversize Baguette structures encompass the space,” states the press release.
Fendi’s artistic director Kim Jones is known for his collaborations, and the LVMH family of brands were out in full force for September’s resort 2023 show. If the shade of blue looks like the Tiffany blue box, your eyes aren’t playing games.
In addition to providing color inspo, the LVMH Tiffany & Co brand like Fendi, was brought into the anniversary celebration to provide diamond baguettes for the Fendi baguettes. The constant cross-pollination of the LVMH brands always adds an extra bit of verve to these events.
Linda Evangelista is the ‘face’ of the Fendi project and is lensed for these new campaign images by Steven Meisel.
Multicolour Beads Embroidery Baguette
Immortalized in 2000, the Multicolour Beads Embroidery Baguette is back in the Fendi 25 Re-Editions.
One of the most celebrated embodiments of Baguette DNA, the bag is made by hand, using 40,000 beads in different colours and finishes, writes the Fendi IG. Photography by Johnny Dufort [IG].
Continuing my comment top of post: Why did I respond to WONU? Because their office is at 945 Bergen St. in Brooklyn, and I used to live on Bergen St. in Brooklyn. Maria Grazia Chiuri is very important to me as a designer and creative director. While she was at Dior when this event happened, I put this recommendation forward to her team at Fendi.
After reviewing the WONU Studio website in depth, I wanted not only to give the group a credit, but we are working on a high-quality exposure article this fall. This is kismet, my friends. When I discover a person I’d like to know that very morning and then find him featured in a blog post on WONU.Studio on Bergen Street in Brooklyn, where I once lived — all in the same day — it’s a wrap.
So now you know what it takes to get a free ride on Anne of Carversville. Good luck. ~ Anne
