Nyaueth Riam Has 'Good Vibes' in WSJ Magazine June-July by Bibi Cornejo Borthwick

Model Nyaueth Riam becomes art muse to stylist Kate Phelan and photographer Bibi Cornejo Borthwick [IG] (Note that Borthwick’s IG is private. Link is to agency We Folk.) in ‘Good Vibes’ a fashion story for WSJ Magazine’s June-July issue.

The fashion team takes cues from artists including Ellsworth Kelly’s bold colors, Bridget Riley’s Op Art and Barbara Hepworth’s sculptural shapes.

Using a monochromatic palette as a base, Borthwick and Phelan then layered pieces with strokes of super-saturated color. A Louis Vuitton white nautical frock on model Nyaueth Riam is pumped up by bold Yves Klein–blue track pants and turtleneck. A black Jil Sander ensemble gets a blast of energy from an orange turtleneck. A long black Alexander McQueen dress features a frilly collar of vibrant green, while a strict black Celine by Hedi Slimane jacket lightens up with pretty pinks. Sandals from Salvatore Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton add a sporty kick to dressed-up looks, while track-ready Loewe sneakers ground a mid-calf frock. And wearing a black polka-dot top and skirt by A.W.A.K.E. Mode is like taking one of Riley’s iconic dot prints off the wall and out into the world.
