There’s no arguing that the mushroom props are fantastical. But after further exploration of Stella McCartney’s Spring 2022 collection — also inspired by mushrooms — the facts of fungi may set us free in the real world.

I seized an hour+ last weekend to watch the now on Netflix film ‘Fastastic Fungi’ that has inspired Stella’s passion for mushrooms in faux leather and as a major life force for our planet. The film may be the most intriguing documentary I’ve seen in years — even decades.

There’s a three-day online event Fantastic Fungi Summit beginning Friday, Oct. 15 by the world’s most influential authorities on fungi — the many voices who inspire Stella McCartney and now me. The online event is free but to review the films or do further research on the website post summit is a $90 ticket. I will be buying one.

Not being an expert on mushrooms, I consider myself informed about their many magical properties and importance in our biosphere This film leaves me feeling like I am in first grade and not freshman year on the topic Consider me awestruck over fungi. ~ Anne
