The fashion shoot happened in December when British Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful was in Sydney, Australia to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Vogue Australia. Enninful’s “honorary daughter” and Australia transplant Adut Akech joined the party just days before the devastating Australian wildfires began.

In early March, the heaviest rain in 30 years saturated much of Australia, prompting officials to declare: “For the first time since early July 2019, there is currently no active bush or grassfires in #NSW, tweeted New South Wales Rural Fire Service. “That’s more than 240 days of fire activity for the state.”
