Reviewing everyone’s Instagrams, there is no confirmation that the photo shoot happened at Mexico’s Chicxulub Crater, “site of the world’s third largest impact crater, and where the fate of the dinosaurs was sealed”, writes Atlas Obscura.

Some 65 million years ago, an asteroid or comet the size of a small city came hurtling toward Earth. With a force of 100 million megatons of TNT (two million times stronger than the most powerful man-made bomb), it crashed into our planet and created devastating consequences for both the dinosaurs and all other life.

AOC is always digging deeper into humanity’s past and into our future. Atlas Obscura explains that “impacts the size of Chicxulub occur on Earth about once every 100 million years, making the crater in Mexico a humbling and perhaps unsettling reminder of life’s fragility.”

For so many of us, the reminders of life’s fragility are front and center in our minds, as we face 2021 with confusion about exactly how our lives will proceed. ~ Anne
