Nicole Chapoteau Promoted to Fashion Director of Vanity Fair Magazine
/Vanity Fair’s Editor-in-chief Radhika Jones announced multiple changes at the magazine early this week. Nicole Chapoteau has been promoted to fashion director, replacing Samira Nasr who has replaced Glenda Bailey as EIC of Harper’s Bazaar US. Chapoteau arrived at VF in 2019 as market director, coming from Allure as fashion director.
Jessica Pressler joins VF as a special correspondent covering the intersection of money and culture. Pressler has been at New York Magazine for more than a decade and was nominated for a National Magazine Award for her 2015 story ‘The Hustlers at Scores’.
Matt Lynch is now executive editor, after leading VF.com. Lynch will continue being responsible for the Vanities vertical, and co-edit the new VF Weekly newsletter. Plans are to join print and digital operations under a single team.
Additionally, Keziah Weir was named senior editor, Abigail Tracy named national political reporter and Alyssa Karas named associate director, audience development. New contributing editors joining VF include Ta-Nehisi Coates, Katherine Eban, May Jeong, Kiese Makeba Laymon, Franklin Leonard, Maureen O’Connor, Jen Palmieri, Mo Ryan, Chris Smith, and Jesmyn Ward.
