Moët & Chandon Drops Don C Collab Capsule That Marries NBA and Fine Champagne

Moët & Chandon, the official Champagne of the NBA and streetwear designer Don C [Don Crawley] — who also works with hip-hop’s favorite sport — dropped a capsule today May 8, 2023.

The all-new Just Don collection consists of a limited-edition team-logo hoodie and bottle redesigns of the house brand’s iconic Impérial Brut and Nectar Impérial Rosé.

Chicago’s own Don C [IG] is the Creative Strategy and Design Advisor of the Chicago Bulls via their relationship with Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Co.

Don C understands that “the fusion of sports and luxury is here now, and it's here to stay. Collaborations like this will keep this intersection of culture, luxury and sports, at the forefront of people’s minds, and I am excited to bring together two worlds that mean so much to me, personally. As seen through their partnership with the NBA, Moët & Chandon paints the picture of cultural relevance, while maintaining their luxury and centuries-old heritage.”

"Don C is a visionary and a master of his craft," said Anne-Sophie Stock, vice president of Moët & Chandon. "A creator of some of the most coveted releases, we are honored to be in partnership with Don C, a continued friend of the house, and were excited to give him the creative license to redesign two of our coveted Champagne bottles through his own lens to help fuse the culture of the NBA with the heritage of Moët & Chandon."

The hoodie and bottles include logos from eight NBA teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Oklahoma Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks.

LVMH always makes certain that its ambassadors and collaborators understand the product they have aligned with. Don C told WWD that he took the time to visit Moët & Chandon in Epernay where he was able to see the entire process of "how such a prestigious product is created really brought to life that centuries-old heritage."

"Champagne isn't something you can create for instant gratification," Don C said. "The principle of wanting to deliver something that is going to make an impact for generations to come and transcend time periods inspired me heavily, and I really wanted to bring that approach into this collaboration. Collaborations like this are what will keep this intersection of cultures at the forefront of people's minds, and I am excited to bring together two worlds that mean so much to me personally."

Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar at Harrods

AOC recently wrote about the Prada Caffè popping into the main floor of Harrods in Knightsbridge, open until January 7, 2024.

Reality is that they live in good company in the world of luxury brands.

The Moët & Chandon champagne bar at Harrods London, opened in July 2022, is their largest champagne bar in Europe at 1,345 square feet.

The entire Moët & Chandon portfolio is available at the new bar, including the Legacy Grand Vintage 1996, which is usually only sold direct, and rare limited-editions, like the 1959 Grand Vintage Magnum, a steal at £4,400. The champagne is served in the new 870 Flute, made by Lehmann exclusively for Moët & Chandon.

Not Another Faux Pas (£10) is a vegetarian alternative made of mushrooms, rhubarb and ginger and served with gold leaf and Moet champagne, of course.

You’ll find both classic seafood fare and unusual savoury bites such as burrata toasts with kimchee and black sesame, alongside ultra-indulgent, exclusive patisserie.  Explore the entire menu here.
