Anna Wintour Is Condé Nast Chief Content Creator; Edward Enninful EIC Vogue Europe
/It’s been a rough few weeks at Condé Nast, with a mass exodus of European execs and editors recently. Vogue Germany and Vogue Spain EICs Christiane Arp and Eugenia de la Torriente are gone. Condé Nast Italia’s ceo Fedele Usai and Condé Nast Italia’s editorial director Luca Dini have left.
On Tuesday, a vision of a fresh, global Vogue began to take shape with the promotions of Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful.
The New Condé Nast
Already one of Condé Nast’s top executives, Anna Wintour has been promoted to chief content creator and global editorial director of Vogue, while retaining her EIC responsibilities at Vogue US. Edward Enninful, called “the widely celebrated top editor at British Vogue who is said to be an eventual successor to Wintour”, according to WWD, has been promoted to .European editorial director of Vogue for the markets owned and operated by Condé Nast, which include the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain.
“Anna’s appointment represents a pivotal moment for Condé Nast as her ability to stay ahead in connecting with new audiences, while cultivating and mentoring some of today’s brightest talent in the industry, has made her one of media’s most distinguished executives,” said Roger Lynch, chief executive officer of Condé Nast, to whom Wintour will continue to report.
Simone Marchetti has been promoted to European editorial director of Vanity Fair, responsible for editions published in France, Italy and Spain. EIC Radhika Jones will oversee Vanity Fair US and UK.
“Amy Astley has been named global editorial director of AD, Divia Thani the global editorial director of Condé Nast Traveler and Will Welch will be the global editorial director of GQ,” writes WWD. The remaining global brand announcements will be made in 2021.
