ADL Confirms James Murdoch's $1 Million Gift & $1 Million Via His Email To Friends | Fox News Hires Alleged White Nationalist Sebastian Gorka

In August 2017, in the days after white nationalism raised its ugly head in Charlottesville, James Murdoch, CEO of 21st Century Fox sent an email to friends and colleagues that was leaked to media.

Commenting that he rarely discussed his family's charitable giving, Murdoch announced a pledge from him and his wife for $1 million to the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and urged others to also support the organization.

This week the ADL confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the Murdoch donation of $1 million was received, accompanied by almost another $1 million associated with Murdoch's email.

Fox News Updates

Disney

21st Century Fox is in serious discussions with Walt Disney Co. to sell most of the company to Walt Disney Co. It's premature to say that a deal is definitely in the making. CNBC writes that the changing media landscape is based on an ability to scale news, entertainment, digital video content and sports properties.

For Disney, the opportunity to take control of another movie studio and significant TV production assets as it readies a direct-to-consumer entertainment streaming offering is attractive as is Fox's significant exposure to international markets, such as the U.K., Germany and Italy — both through its networks and 39 percent ownership of Sky. Disney recently announced it will pull all of its movies from the Netflix platform and will establish two direct-to-consumer offerings: one for sports and one including its key franchises such as "Star Wars" and Marvel.

Disney would not purchase all of Fox, according to people with knowledge of the talks. Fox broadcast network is not involved in talks; nor is ESPN or Fox's local broadcasting affiliates, according to people familiar with the negotiations.

Sebastian Gorka

Former White House advisor in the Trump administration Sebastian Gorka will join Fox News Channel as an analyst. Gorka departed the White House after the appointment of General John Kelly as Chief of Staff.

In an interesting twist of James Murdoch's expressed concerns about white nationalism and anti-semitism, Gorka is widely reportedly to be a sworn member of a Nazi-allied party in Hungary.

In March, The Forward uncovered Gorka’s ties to a group known as Vitézi Rend, which according to the State Department, was “under the direction of the Nazi Government of Germany” during World War II.

“I have never taken an oath of loyalty to the Vitézi Rend,” Gorka told Tablet Magazine after The Forward story was published. “Since childhood, I have occasionally worn my father’s medal and used the ‘v.’ initial to honor his struggle against totalitarianism.”

In August 2017 PolitiFact took an in-depth look at the question: Are there white nationalists in the White House? The Louis Jacobson analysis is well worth the read.
