Zelda Fitzgerald In 'Z: The Beginning of Everything' Comes To Amazon

Amazon's new original series featuring actor Christina Ricci playing Zelda Fitzgerald. In this fictionalized account of the couple's turbulent marriage, the narrative plays from Zelda's perspective and not that of her famous husband, the writer and novelist.

The first trailer, which dropped today, shows Zelda and Scott enjoying the riches of his literary fame while striving to maintain their posh, party-heavy lifestyle. "He basically married the heroine of his stories," one observer remarks as they dance their way through New York's speakeasies. This, of course, is true—Zelda is widely regarded as the inspiration for The Great Gatsby's Daisy Buchanan, and one scene in the trailer shows her reproaching him for using her words in a story. Scott and Zelda were as famous for their fights as their glamour, and his mining of her life for material for his stories looks to be a major plot point of the show. via

The life of Zelda Fitzgerald is also under development by actors Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson. Prepare for fashion's preoccupation with the Jazz Age, additionally relevant with the rise of Trump Tower and all things glitzy.

'Z: The Beginning of Everything' will stream on Amazon starting Friday January 27, 2017.
