Edward Enninful Unveils Prada's 'Harlem Renaissance' Iconoclasts Vision

W Magazine fashion editor and stylist Edward Enninful added his vision of the Prada brand, opening a new chapter of Prada’s ‘The Iconoclasts’ series inspired by the ‘Harlem Renaissance’. Enninful is preceded in ‘The Iconoclasts’ by Carine Roitfeld, Oliver Rizzo, Alex White and Katie Grand. Enninful unveiled his vision in Prada’s Monte Napoleone stores with Thursday’s fall/winter 2014 fashion show.
From the Prada website, Enninful says that Miuccia Prada’s work always begins with a conversation. “I looked to the ‘Harlem Renaissance’ for the SS14 installment of The Iconoclasts series. As the ‘Harlem Renaissance’ was a period of original thoughts — when creative minds inspired and embraced a new cultural identity — I felt this was an appropriate narrative to incorporate into this season’s Prada collection.
Inspired by stars like Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Josephine Baker and Ella Fitzgerald, Enninful’s Milan installations are on display until February 24th. Two days later, Enninful’s vision for Prada’s new St. Petersburg store will be unveiled.
