Lisa Catherine Brown Is Back!
Joyful Bike-Riding Benefits for Heart, Soul & Spirit AOC Health
In this July 18 article review of the many physical and emotional health benefits from bike riding, we referenced Lisa Catherine Brown’s pending move to a loft in Michigan, one of those rebirthing events that women and couples are known to take on once the kids are grown and moved out.
The decision can be part of a larger challenge to give mom and dad their own space and time to pursue more independent, self-development goals after decades of responsible devotion to family.
Anne spoke with Lisa at length yesterday and suggested that she pick up the bike story — and her own life changes from new diet and exercise to smelling the roses five miles from Lake Michigan — sharing her lofty new perspective in Health and Happiness.
Lisa said two special bikes made a grand entrance, as her truck of furniture was being unloaded. We can’t wait to see the snaps. Stay tuned.

Art and Fashion in Dasha Zhukova’s Garage NYTimes
Dasha Zhukova’s debut issuf Garage will debut during New York Fashion Week. Zhukova, a former editor of Pop, blurs the line between fashion and art. A key player in the debut issue, artist Dinos Chapman describes his shoot with photographer Nick, as “a full-blown fashion shoot.” Their collaboration resulted in a ‘creepy dollhouse’ with a puppetlike version of model Lily Dlnaldson wearing Marc Jacobs and Mary Katrantzou.
One of the more provocative covers (there are three versions) shows a Hedi Slimane photograph of a lower half of a nude model, whose crotch is covered by a green butterfly sticker created by Damien Hirst. The sticker peels off (inspired by the Velvet Underground album art by Andy Warhol) to reveal a butterfly tattoo, also of Mr. Hirst’s design.
Pages are infused with meaning that make no sense. A good example will be a focus on a dress called ‘Lettuce by Alexander McQueen’. It looks to be made of romaine, and isn’t the only edible creation by giovanna Battaglia and photographer Fulvio Bonavia. Prada’s dress is made of citrus and a Moncler coat smells of anchovies (just kidding).
“It is so very, very different from other magazines,” said Garage’s art director, Mike Meiré, who is also the art director of the influential German magazine 032c.
Shakira’s African Trance Album
Shakira is working on her eighth studio album with rumours that she wants to produce a dance-inspired album. The Colombian pop star who is a key muse of AOC has met with producers Afrojack, Dr Luke, RedOne, Benny Blanco and Max Martin about working on the follow-up to 2010’s The Sun Comes Out, according to Shakira-Media.
Shakira has also approached underground club DJ Venus X, who says “Hopefully I’ll be able to introduce her to things that are working on the dance floor so she can translate and reinterpret them for universal pop,” DJ Venus X said. She added: “Shakira wants to make dance music. She’s always been ahead of the curve. With ‘Ojos Asi’, she was doing Arabic instrumentals with Spanish vocals.”

In Berlin: Tempelhof Airport Reborn
Repurposing Tempelhof Airport TIME
In May, the Edinburgh-based architecture firm Gross Max won a €60 million ($86.5 million) contract to redesign Tempelhof Airport and its runways which have served recently as an urban park for cross-country skiers in winter and rollerbladers in summer.
Its proposal calls for retaining Tempelhof’s flatness to create “a contemporary prairie for the urban cowboy.” Until the firm’s victory, there were no definite answers about Tempelhof Park’s future design or use, besides the €70 million that will be pumped into the site for the 2017 International Garden Show.
Visually dominating the plan is an artificial 197-foot-high mountain called the Humboldt Monument, which will be capped by a statue of the angel from the Wim Wenders film “Wings of Desire.” Another large pavillion will probably become structure envisioned as a community center for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Eelco Hooftman, one of Gross Max’s co-founders, says the new park must focus on the evolution of park typology. “The old parks, especially in Berlin, were all about the masses, Das Volk. Now it’s much more about the person. Society has become much more individualistic,” the 50-year-old architect added. “It’s about reutilizing old land and making it do something new,” he continued, comparing the project to New York’s new High Line Park.
The Narcissistic Personality
Health | The Narcissistic Personality | Marriage, Divorce & Obesity AOC Health
September’s cover issue of Psychology Today is devoted to better understanding narcissists. We have a complex relationship with this psychology type because they are charming and tend to dominate 21st century public culture.
A narcissist thrives on controlling behavior that captivates the general public and close social networks because many narcissists exude: attractiveness, competence, interpersonal warmth and humor. Their personalities suggest that they should like other people more — but this is a key difference between the narcissist, who is me-centered, and the extrovert.

Sensual Power & Self Acceptance, Even at the Food Stamps Office AOC Sexual Politics
Sensuality is not a skill, but a lifestyle living (tm). A moment of nothingness can become beautiful within its own simplicity. It’s the moment when you are truly feeling the flows of spirality fervor, cascading up and down like a kundalini snake. In that immediate moment, sitting on the phone with my sister, the wind engages me with a sensual touch on my naked shoulder and instantly I felt loved, warmth, happiness and joy all encompassing with perfect harmony.
Anne ‘Gets’ Jane Fonda’s Staircase Metaphor
The Merits of Going Through Life Thinking You’re a Firefly AOC Anne’s Sensually Yours Blog
Jane Fonda’s use of the staircase resonates deeply with Anne. One of her most important and vivid dreams of self-realization saw her climbing an imaginary crystal staircase into the ceiling — and beyond — of the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio.
Simply stated, Anne defied the laws of gravity in her dream and saw this vision as her triumph over the fears and personal obstacles she put in the way of her own self -development.
