Tasha Tilberg As For-Real Lady Farmer Who Loves Denim in ELLE Italia Fashion Story
/Model Tasha Tilberg is back in a denim-rich fashion world cover story for ELLE Italia. Barcelona-based Xavi Gordo [IG] is behind the lens.
While it’s not his typical technical style, Gordo did employ it in an Isabel Sholten 2017 fashion story for Glamour Italia.
I have the same response to this fashion story that I did eco-warrior Tasha Tilberg’s story for Fashion Canada April 2022. The clothes were great — and these denim clothes have terrific styling by Laura Seganti. But which are the sustainable choices?
Calzedonia jeans promotes itself as being sustainable, and they are using Turkish manufacturing giant Isko Denim. Vogue Business writes:
The Turkish manufacturer is behind the denim lines of several emerging designers, including Bianca Saunders, Bethany Williams and Matty Bovan, as well as established brands such as Replay, Calzedonia and Frame.
Stella McCartney’s denim is organic cotton-based. That may be it.
Featuring Tasha Tilberg, a lady farmer very committed to following in the footsteps of her ancestors as a steward of the land — and our planet — does not replace our need for sustainable denim.
However, I will get off my soapbox, since this fashion story is an inspiring, sexy, true-grit woman set of images that I love. It’s not my excellence to load up with a sustainability rant. ~ Anne
