WSJ Condemns New York's 'Massive Resistance' to SC Guns Galore Across America Ruling

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced late Friday evening, July 1, that lawmakers have passed new legislation making concealed carry in “sensitive locations” illegal. Sensitive locations include airports and public transportation, entertainment venues, bars and restaurants, houses of worship and Times Square, among others.

The new law will go into effect on September 1, 2022. By default, guns are banned on all private property unless the owners of property post signage permitting guns on the property, or the gun owner has obtained consent from property owner.

Anne responds on WSJ: “Just today -- before Highland Park assault -- I queried the prevalence of muskets on the street at the time the Constitution was written. Did our founders really stroll around town with their muskets strapped on their backs.?

The answer is no, no, no. [Edited]: About. 50% of households probated had guns, with the numbers varying by state. But there is no evidence that guns were carried around on citizens backs — as states like Texas now demand the right for AF-15 assault rifles to be carried anywhere, no questions asked. Muskets were heavy.

So WSJ says I should have no problem looking for melon at the grocery store, with a guy standing next to me with an assault rifle. He just might decide he doesn't like the way I'm going about picking melons and he just might decide he doesn't like my hairdo.

Until he blows me up, only his rights count, supporting a reality that never existed in colonial America. Just like abortion was widely practiced AND advertised on lamp poles. You originalists have really sold America a pack of lies, and I have no idea how to fight back.

If you can't see the absurdity of AR15s at the grocery store, heaven help us. I've been in police protection for a year when some white dude decided he was going to kill me over a question I answered on TV. He finally confronted me.

BTW, the police were fantastic. They are on my side in this absurd situation, pleading to get guns off the streets. I have no rights to buy broccoli in peace, according to WSJ. America has truly lost its mind.

I admit that AF-15s at the grocery store make me nervous. Does that make me a bad citizen in the eyes of WSJ? Apparently.”
