Mick Rock Shoots Gucci Cruise 2018 Campaign In Rome With An Eyeful Of Eclectic Talent
Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele returns to his beloved Rome for Gucci's Cruise 2018 campaign. The eclectic eye-candy images feature a fashionable, creative talent gaggle of 'real people in real places -- often their homes' shot by British photographer Mick Rock.

Rock gained fame documenting stars Syd Barrett, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Blondie, Talking Heads, the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, "in addition to being David Bowie’s official photographer during the artist’s Ziggy Stardust incarnation', writes WWWD. The photographer’s experience around trend-setting rock stars also included the creations of a range of memorable album covers, such as Lou Reed’s “Transformer,” Iggy and the Stooges’ “Raw Power” and Queen’s “Queen II.”
A short movie directed by Chuck Grant will be released both in 60-second and 120-second formats. It was at the Billabong Pipe Masters Event when the Aussie surfer brand hung out with Perth-born, Bondi-based photographer Josie Clough, who made big waves as a new photographer for Sports Illustrated's famed Swimsuit edition. SMH argues that Josie Clough, who also founded an online swimwear site It's Now Cool, is on track to become this generation's Helmut Newton.
"A partnership between an iconic surf brand and a progressive swim photographer seemed almost too good to be true. After months of research and designing we came up with the 10-piece collection based around the very heart of both iconic brands; our love for swim and the sea," writes Billabong.
The dream team, bringing together model Maya Stepper, photographer Josie Clough and Billabong X headed back to Waikiki, on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, with its vintage vibe and beach paradise sand. The results are delicious angel food cake!

In 2013, Valletta teamed up with Yooxygen to launch Master & Muse, an e-commerce platform featuring eco-friendly designers. (The site is currently in transition, writes Trong.) “I’m trying to educate consumers so they’ll put pressure on brands, and trying to get brands to think about [sustainable fashion] in a cool, sexy way,” she says. Valletta cites Stella McCartney as one designer who’s getting it right with cutting-edge fabrics and shoes with biodegradable soles. “She’s very clever,” says Valletta.
Earlier this year Valletta, a Sierra Club ambassador, penned an op-ed opposing the nomination of then–Oklahoma attorney general Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. She grew up in Tulsa, and she expressed her fear as a mother—Valletta has a 16-year-old son, Auden, with ex-husband Chip McCaw—over Pruitt’s track record on pollution, among other things. “Speaking up for the truth isn’t always easy,” she says. “It takes courage, but it’s necessary.” Glamour posted Valletta's entire letter.

Update Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017: In a very sad twist in the Eric Bolling story, his son Eric Chase Bolling Jr. was found dead in Boulder on Friday night in a reported by TMZ, and sourced by People magazine, drug overdose.
