As Republican Voters Eye Presidential Defeat, Controlling the Senate Is Job # 1

In the Land of Raw Firepower A Feeling That Trump Has Run Out of Ammo Politico

“Trump can’t win,” said Steve, who wouldn’t give his last name because he didn’t want his house blown up (who he was afraid of wasn't clear). Steve, whose accent suggested a hometown somewhere in New England, said that without women, blacks, and Hispanics, Trump couldn’t overcome Hillary Clinton. “And that’s game over. He lost as soon as he picked his running mate. You can’t win with two white guys anymore. If he would have picked a woman, she would have been forced to defend him.”
Steve had carefully planned his political retreat, which became evident as he laid out his strategy for defeating the Clinton administration’s anti-gun agenda: Retain control of the Senate at all costs.
“With a big set of balls, they could stop any Supreme Court nominee — as many as she gives ‘em, because the Constitution doesn’t say there needs to be nine justices,” Steve said. “The best thing that can happen in Washington is nothing, gridlock.”

Donald Trump, Son of a Catholic Hater Disgraces Al Smith Dinner by Michael Daly Politico

Daly offer an interesting and fact-filled background on the many times in which presidential political candidates have not been invited to the Al Smith dinner. In fact, Bill Clinton was not invited in 1996 over his veto of a bill outlawing late-term abortions.

In 2004, neither George W. Bush nor his opponent John Kerry were invited, allegedly because of Kerry's prochoice position. Now Cardinal Dolan resisted great outside pressure to not invite President Obama in 2012 because of the health-care bill requiring employers to provide insurance plans with birth control for women.

In no uncertain terms, Daly questions the potential for an unholy alliance between Dolan and Trump.

Michelle Obama Makes Play for Arizona Politico

“We have a candidate whose vision for our country is completely and utterly lacking in hope, a candidate who tells us our country is desperate and weak, that our communities are in chaos, that our fellow citizens are a threat,” she told the crowd of 7,000, yet again ripping into Donald Trump without using his name once. “To him, most of America is ‘them.’"

What’s more, she warned, Trump's insistence that the election is “rigged” and his refusal to commit to accepting the results in the case of a loss is an attempt to suppress their vote.

“He is threatening the very idea of America itself,” she said. “You do not leave American democracy in ‘suspense.’"

Trump Foundation Paid Activist Filmmaker James O'Keefe NBC News

Donald Trump has further fired up his crowds with 'proof' of a video released a few days ago, alleging that supporters of Hillary Clinton were paid to incite violence at one of his Chicago rallies. Trump said the video affirmed that her crooked Hillary campaign was just "sleazy". campaign  invoked a video that says supporters of Hillary Clinton were paid to incite violence at one of his rallies in Chicago. Trump referenced the video at the third debate.

Ironically, what Trump hasn't mentioned is that he has paid the filmmaker, who he now says uncovered the story, with funds from the Trump Foundation. That action should be a disqualifying one for the Trump Foundation, but I digress.

The video was made by conservative activist James O'Keefe of Project Veritas, paid $10,000 by the Trump Foundation in May of 2015 - one month before Trump's launched his presidential run.
