Actor and businesswoman Jessica Alba tells The Edit November 19, 2015 that she's always struggled to be taken seriously. In fact, her Hollywood peers that she was 'nuts' when Alba founded The Honest Company in 2012. With 2014 sales of $170 million and an August 2015 valuation of $1.7 billion, Alba has clearly cracked open a lot of shells. Alba explains that she is no mogul and tries to operate as a principled human being.

"I was never that girl. I never dated people to be successful. I never compromised myself, or my beliefs, or my values to get ahead. And you know, in a weird way, I liked it when they didn't believe in me. It fueled me."
